Residents of New Fadama and surrounding communities in Accra experienced a memorable World Food Day celebration on Thursday, October 16, 2025, as the Kevin Okyere Foundation, led by its Founder and Chairman, Kevin Okyere, hosted a major food donation event that supported more than 400 families.

Families received comprehensive food and household support packages, including rice, sugar, beans, sardines, salt, tomato paste, gari, bathing and washing soaps, cocoa beverages, powdered milk, vegetable cooking oil, toothpaste, and sanitary pads.
Speaking at the event, Kevin Okyere shared the personal significance of returning to New Fadama:
“Fadama holds a special place in my heart. Years ago, His Eminence, the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Hunu Sharabutu, offered his prayers at a critical moment in my life. I later learned that his home feeds hundreds of people every single day, regardless of background or faith. That quiet generosity moved me deeply. So when the time came to begin our Food Donation Programme, there was no better place to start than right here.”
He also highlighted the Foundation’s broader humanitarian focus:
“In our shared humanity, we are only as strong as the compassion we show one another. We have supported hospitals across the country with essential medical equipment and infrastructure to strengthen care. These are not just numbers to us, they are stories of hope renewed and lives restored.”
Beyond food support, Kevin Okyere outlined future initiatives for the community, including youth empowerment and employable skills training to improve economic opportunities in Ghana.

The Executive Secretary at the Office of the National Chief Imam, Alhaji Osumanu Seidu, thanked Kevin Okyere and the Foundation for extending support to the people of Fadama and expressed hope for future collaboration.
Following the donation, the Foundation team paid a courtesy visit to His Eminence Sheikh Osman Hunu Sharabutu to express appreciation for his continued leadership and humanitarian service.

The World Food Day outreach is part of the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to advancing dignity, compassion, and support for vulnerable families across Ghana. It marks the beginning of a series of expanded initiatives in 2025 and beyond as the Foundation continues to strengthen its footprint in communities nationwide.
